Scottish adventure // Isle of Skye

25. 10. 2017

“Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.”― Jack Kerouac

So in the last post I took you through Edinburgh and its main attractions and now it's time for something a little different. Isle of Skye is a place where sheep are your best friends, one-lane roads prevail and nature stuns you. It is true that we didn't really have the best weather but we didn't let a few raindrops and gusts of wind stop us. I feel like this kind of gloomy weather makes it even more special.
One word to describe the island? Dramatic. Its cliffs stretch along the cost and leave you feeling very small. I especially loved the Storr - if you get a chance to climb it I highly recommend it. I've never seen a view so majestic.

Hope you like the photos!

Scottish adventure // Edinburgh

22. 10. 2017

Words that describe this breath-taking city? Historical, vibrant, old-fashioned, beyond beautiful, inspiring, Hogwarts-like, enchanting, beyond beautiful (Did I mention that already? :D).

I already hold England very close to my heart, and I kinda had a feeling that I would fall in love with Edinburgh. And I did! The first morning when we walked to Wetherspoons to get breakfast, I couldn't stop muttering 'Wow. This is so beautiful.' and already took hundreds of photos. This city and its lanes, streets and closes are honestly stunning.

October

1. 10. 2017

''October arrived, spreading a damp chill over the grounds and into the castle. Madam Pomfrey, the nurse, was kept busy by a sudden spate of colds among the staff and students. Raindrops in size of bullets thundered on the castle windows for days on end; the lake rose, the flower beds turned into muddy streams, and Hagrid's pumpkins swelled to the side of garden sheds.''

- J. K. Rowling

My plan for today's evening? Cuddle up in the warmest blankets and relax. I have the busiest week ahead, since I have many things to check off my to do list before I head to Scotland on Friday. It's like I have been waiting for my Scottish adventure for so long and it feels like I am about to visit the mothership of autumns. The excitement is BEYOND real.
On another note, the sun finally decided to visit us in Slovenia again and just in time for the weekend as well! We made a quick trip to one of the country's beauties - Lake Bled - and enjoyed in the sound of crunching leaves under our feet.

How was you weekend? I want to hear all about it. :)
