Life Advice

31. 8. 16

''Always be the best person you can be. Be kind even when you're tired. Be understanding even when you are angry. Do more than you're asked, and don't ask for anything in return. Don't silently expect anything either. Listen when someone talks, and really listen too, stop just thinking of how you'll reply. Tell people that you love them and that you appreciate them. Go out of your way to do things for people. Be the greatest person you can possibly be and when you mess up, make up for it in the next moment or minute of the day. One thing you should never do? Never spend your time trying to prove to anybody that you are great, your actions will speak for themselves and we only have limited time on this earth, so please don't waste it. If someone doesn't see your light, don't worry. Like moths, people are attracted to flame and to light, and they will come.'' -unknown

You should never settle

24. 8. 16

Settling, for me, is for example like buying a broken television instead of a working one. Or opt for another model that you don’t like as much. Why would you choose mediocre, when fire exists? I don’t understand people who settle for someone they don’t even really like just to be in a relationship. And it makes me quite sad that there are so many relationships based solely on the fear of being alone. When it comes to love you should never settle. Just wait for the right one, and I promise - it will be legendary.

And it’s not just about love. It’s about everything - your job, your life. When was the last time you went after what you want? When was the last time you did something just for the sake of it? Just to feel good?

I feel like my blog is slowly turning into me preaching about being fearless and getting out of your comfort zone :D but these are the topics I am most passionate about, so hopefully you don’t mind :)

Change

20. 8. 16

Change. The only thing that's constant. Places change, your favorite song changes, the color of your nail polish changes, your favorite TV series change. Feelings change, people change. The latter may be the hardest to comprehend. Sometimes you just want to walk to the person who has changed completely, shook their arms and yell to their face ‘what happened bro?’. But you can’t. Because things change. People change. Sometimes change becomes an excuse. Other times it’s just growing up. Sometimes it’s a consequence of something that happened. Other times it’s a consequence of something that didn’t happen.

But. When your life changes, new opportunities come. When people change, someone better comes along.  When you finish one TV series, you find another one that makes you laugh/sad/intrigued/scared. In the end, change is usually a good thing. Wonderful, even.

So please, don’t be afraid of things changing and time passing, just make sure you make the most of everything and find the time to dance.

We ain't ever getting older.

Best 3 weeks of my life

16. 8. 16

It all started in March, when I was feeling a little too brave and a little too lost. I saw a Facebook Ad for the Toronto Business Academy, and since this summer school was completely out of my comfort zone and made my heart beat 874030 times faster, I applied. The more the day of my departure got closer the more I panicked, but somehow I gathered my courage, packed way too much stuff, said goodbye to my friends, and headed to Toronto.

And now, three weeks later, I can't even begin to describe how amazing my journey was. I met the most wonderful people, almost died laughing every day, ate amazing food, had a chance to live in my new favorite city. I've had the time of my life, learnt so much, gained a new perspective on life. I kind of wish I could get stuck in a Universe where these three weeks repeat themselves over and over again.

I learnt that all those motivational quotes about getting out of your comfort zone is the best thing ever are actually true. And for all my new favorite people: it's not a goodbye, it's see you later. <3

Toronto, you were GOLDEN.
