Best dessert EVER

29. 5. 16

And I mean it. These raw chocolate and caramel slices are EVERYTHING, and if you make only one dessert in your life, this should be it. On top of it all, they are refined sugar, gluten and dairy free. My friends can attest to just how scrumptious they are. Sooo here's the recipe :)

Crust (1st layer)
225 g of cashew nuts
25 g of desiccated coconut
10 un-pitted dates
3 tbs of maple syrup

Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend, blend, blend.
Then put the mixture on a baking tray and put it in the freezer.

Caramel stuff (2nd layer)
175 g of un-pitted dates
52 g of coconut oil
120 g of almond butter
120 g of maple syrup
2 tbs of vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Blend everything together and layer it on top of the first layer, then put it back in the freezer.

The last step a.k.a the chocolate layer
 40 g of cacao powder
108 g of coconut oil
52 g of maple syrup

Blend everything and put it on top of the first two layers.
Put it in the freezer for half an hour.

Now brace yourself for the goodness.
Taste it.
Wave goodbye to all other desserts because you have just discovered the real deal.
And enjoy :)

How to not understand life and be okay with it

27. 5. 16

1. If you don’t like your name don’t use it.
2. Scream at the sky, whisper secrets to the ocean, hold hands with clouds. The world is yours if you want it to be.
3. Do things that make you nervous and let the feeling consume you until you feel scared and alive and want to throw up.
4. Don’t worry about falling in love.
5. Pick flowers whenever you see them and leave them wherever you go.
6. Kiss all the things that make you happy and all the things that make you sad, kiss everything that makes you feel anything.
7. Weave stars into your clothes and always remember that you came from them and will go back to them again someday.
8. Never empty your pockets.
9. Light dead flowers on fire when you’re feeling sad, let their smell fill your lungs and make you forget about life.
10. Diet coca cola will make your head spin and your throat burn, drink it when you’re feeling like things are going to get bad.
11. If a boy with pretty eyes asks you who you are, show him your scars and your freckles and your bruises and let him know that you are alive.
12. The best people have electricity running through their veins and around their hearts, let them shock you.
13. Forget how old you are, it does not matter.
14. If something or someone makes you want to run then do it, run until your legs go numb and your heart is about to explode and you forget how to breathe.
15. When the world is asleep make the night your friend and you will become invincible.
16. Get lost in another city and don’t ask for directions.
17. Cry if you want to, but try not to drown in your tears.
18. Do not be afraid of the sight of blood or the sound of bones snapping or the smell of hospital beds.
19. Race the moon while you’re driving until you’re going faster than the speed of light
20. Never sit still.

Thank you

25. 5. 16

Once there was this kinda-tall-but-not-really curly redheaded girl who sometimes spoke too much and liked to walk around house without slippers. She was the type of person who took the long way home just so she could listen to more songs. She was also the kind of person who realized she made a grammatical error and obsessed about it for the rest of the day in silent shame and self-mortification. Maybe that’s why some of her friends called her grammar nazi. But we don’t know that for sure. One day that girl decided to start her own blog, told her friends about it, made some research, thought about how she wants it to look like and then begun.

So this girl wants to thank you for all your support and tell you she appreciates every view, every like, every follow, every comment, every mention, every share. Every everything, really.

What if

22. 5. 16

What if we had met in a different universe, at a different time, in a different place? What if we told each other how we really feel and how we felt all along? What if you told me I have been on your mind for years and will remain there, always? What if we saw each other every day and loved each other so much our minds hurt? Would you still hold back, or would you finally tell me that it has always been me? Would I still pretend that I don’t want you, or would I finally tell you that I think we are made from the same star? Would you finally tell me that you will never forget me, that I will stay as the knot in your throat, the pit in your stomach when you see shards of me in others?

I guess the world is filled with 'what ifs', 'why nots' and 'when thens', but I think that everything happens for a reason and that there are no coincidences. Sometimes people come into your life to show you who you can be, to remind you of your worth, to make you feel better for a little while or just to be someone to walk with at night and spill your secrets to. And that’s it.

Anyway, that's it for this post as well :)
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead x

Mediocrity is not really my thing

20. 5. 16

Sure. I'll make small talk. Chit chat. Discuss the ins and outs of a "typical" day. Pass the time lightly. Say tiny things. I'm happy to tread surfaces with a smile, and will. Sometimes.
Yet- when I look at you, I know there are layers. Dimensions. Collections of ancient wisdom. Roads. Stories on stories on stories. Core needs.  There is humanness.

This is where I light up.

This is where I thrive.

You can't be caged in a pool for long.
Not when you're someone who wants oceans.

You've gotta shake it off, make it loud,
dance it off, let it out.

Magic

18. 5. 16

There is time and there is magic in all of us. Whether you study literature or physics, if you find comfort in the library or on the highest cliff overlooking the ocean that leads to rethinking your whole life. Whether you work from home or are stuck in traffic jams every morning and afternoon. There is magic in everything you create, whether you don't show it to anyone or decide to scream it into the world. There’s a whole world inside us, always widening and making room for new things, new people, new adventures.

There is time, use it.
There is magic, feel it.

Through music, flowers, books, nature, laughter, writing, singing, dancing. Through taking photos, drinking lemonade, eating peanut butter cupcakes, smelling your favorite perfume, laughing with your favorite people. Through everything you love doing.

Here are some outfit photos we took a few days ago.
And I promise - not all my jeans are ripped :D

Balance

15. 5. 16

Some days, I can conquer the world. Other days, it takes me three hours to convince myself to shower. And that’s okay. Sometimes you just need to lie on the floor and listen to The National for hours. I believe happiness is not something we are supposed to feel constantly, and that it is perfectly normal to feel down sometimes. If we understood everything that was happening to us, what would be the point. But I do believe that the root of happiness is *drum roll* gratitude. Count your blessings and I promise your mood will lift. Slowly but drastically. A year ago I started to write a sort of a gratitude journal (basically a list of good things that happened to me throughout the day) and since then I have noticed a huge difference in my attitude. Not only I am happier and I always focus on the bright side, I also became a lot more confident, if I do say so myself :)

So if you find yourself feeling low a little too often I would highly recommend writing down things/people/songs/films/places/smells etc. you are thankful for. Train your mind to see good in every situation and eventually you will be able to see the good side of every situation.

How do you deal with negativity?

Anyway, here is a quick outfit post (and many photos of flowers), hope you like it! I know my hair always looks the same and I wish from the bottom of my heart I could pull off that messy bun style but every time I try to rock it I just come off looking like a samurai who has gone to war and lost. So that's that. So if you have any tips on making the messy bun look at least semi okay (or any other hair style for that matter) please leave them down below :)

There’s too much smoke to see it
There’s too much broke to feel this
I love you, I love you
And all of your pieces.

Never apologize for what makes you happy

13. 5. 16

Love what you will. You hurt no one by having a heart.

If you want to color your hair pink, color it with the pinkest color on the world.
If you want to sing, go to the highest spot in your city and sing you lungs out.
If you want to play an instrument, go to the closest music store and try every instrument there is.
If someone tells you that you are tone-deaf, sing under their window until they tell you they're sorry.
If someone tells you that your personality is too colorful for his taste, find more colors in it.
If someone tells you that you are too much for his taste, duplicate, hell, triplicate.

Just do what you want to do.
And own it.

I am a sucker for sunsets

11. 5. 16

Seeing as my photo albums consist solely of sunsets to say I love them is a bit of an understatement. Seriously, it's getting a bit out of hand. Like if you ask any of my friends to tell you something about me, they will probably say that I am a sunset freak (and that I use hand sanatizer way too often). But you know what? I guess that's a good obsession. I mean it is certainly better than for example being obsessed with picking your nose (which FYI is called Rhinotillexomania).

So without further ado, here are some of my favorite sunset photos :)

Good vibes only

8. 5. 16

I hope I never get tired of the night sky, of thunderstorms, of watching cream make galaxies in my coffee. I hope I never stop being excited about the golden light, sunsets, unicorn phone cases, googling web cameras across the UK, chai lattes, and seeing the next episode of Modern Family. I hope I will never forget just how much I love taking photos, print screening quotes, making up words, daydreaming, and making inappropriate jokes.

I hope I never grow to be someone who can no longer see the small beautiful things.

You got a fast car
I want a ticket to anywhere
Maybe we make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere

Let's get to know each other better

7. 5. 16

Five random facts about me:
  • I know all the lyrics to Eminem songs by heart. He is my favorite artist OF ALL TIME *a Kanye gif is in order* though Macklemore is not far behind :)
  • I don't think I'll ever love anywhere as much as I love Brighton. I just think it is the perfect place to live. No place like Brighton #amen
  • My favorite season is autumn. I do love me some sun and all that shiz, but I have always been an autumn gal. I can’t help myself but fell overly excited for crunchy leaves, big sweaters, boots and fresh autumn air. I just love walking through the city and watching the leaves change color, baking lavender cookies and finding long-forgotten scarves in the back of my wardrobe.
  • I wash my teeth like 3784384734838 times a day.
  • Rose gold everything. If it's not rose gold it's not happening. #rosegoldFORLIFE
What about you?
Do you have any 'weird habits/personality traits'? :)

The one where I overuse the word reality

5. 5. 16

Isn't it crazy how we all experience different realities? Like there are 7 billion people across the world, each with his/hers own version of this exact moment. In reality, reality (see what I did there? :D) is kind of personalized by every person's mind and thoughts.

It is kind of scary to think that some people are bursting with joy right now while others are crying in pain. How we experience every moment from a different perspective, how some people for example get annoyed by the smallest things, while others simply laugh their problems away.

The funny thing is that we don't even realize how small we are. How all our problems seem so big but when we look at the bigger picture they hardly matter at all. How some people are happy with far less and yet we still manage to find something to complain about.

Okay, rant over. I just think we tend to forget how lucky we really are and that we should spend more time appreciating what we already have instead of wishing our lives away. And remember - if something bad happens just turn away, yell ''PLOT TWIST'', and move on :)

Permanent summer

2. 5. 16

Summer is a state of mind.

And here it is - my very first outfit post :) #feelingexcited
It features a few of my current favorites: my beloved white ZARA blouse, the comfiest Topshop jeans, and last but not least my most worn grey cardigan from New Look. I also really like my backpack - I bought it in H&M a few weeks ago, it is a part of their Coachella collection (it was a must since this is as close as I can get to this amazing festival).

Hope you had a great weekend:)
