Role models

25. 9. 16

Let’s face it, one of the most frequent questions when growing up/applying for a job/talking with friends is ‘Who is your role model?’. Answers usually vary quite a lot and probably depend on your age as well. In your teenage years, your role model was maybe some pop star/actor, who’s now perhaps in rehab. When you grow up, the answer to the previous question typically becomes more thought out, like a person you really admire for their strength, wisdom etc. which of course is a valid argument.
But you know what? My role model is my future self. She is the one I want to make proud. I think that we all aspire to be a person who, well, has their shit together. And why not work on becoming that person? Why not make an effort and make yourself proud. Our lives are quite hectic so we tend to forget what we really want and often we become too lazy or too comfortable. But I think that most of us think we have enough time and keep postponing reaching our full potential. Then days, weeks, months go by, and we still wish we would eat healthy, get fitter, or learn to play a new instrument. You can’t make that excuse forever. The truth is time flies. Think about it, it’s already the end of September, 2016 has gone by so fast.

You can’t rely on your future self to suddenly be everything you wanted, while your present self does nothing about it.

Reasons to be excited for autumn

14. 9. 16

1.      There’s nothing better than lazy autumnal evenings, when you light that candle that you have been saving, turn on your fairy lights, listen to some indie music, and just relax.
2.      Rainy nights and misty mornings.
3.      Baking nonstop and also eating nonstop cause you really don’t care about your summer body anymore.
4.      You are officially allowed to put cinnamon onto everything and into everything. #spicegoals
5.      The temperature’s just right, not too hot not too cold.
6.      Nothing better than seeing red and orange everywhere, watching autumn movies, visiting coffee shops, finding long-forgotten scarves in the back of your wardrobe, and buying new sweaters, and OMG I LOVE AUTUMN.

Big heart problems

4. 9. 16

A few weeks ago I stumbled over this phrase – big heart problems. And it got me thinking, is having a big heart really a problem? I guess it depends on how you look at it. I, for example, like falling in love with a thousand things at once. I like that when I love someone, I would do anything for them. I like noticing the littlest things, I like being happy about sunsets, birds singing, leaves falling. I like going all in, committing myself, falling hard, hoping hard, believing hard. Yes, maybe sometimes having a soft heart can be considered a weakness, but gentle doesn’t mean weak.

So the way I see it, having a big heart is not really a problem. It’s more of a blessing.
